I bought a banshee in a box this morning, the right side piston and rod are garbage. So I'm doing a complete rebuild of the whole bike.. He said it was bored 40over? I think.. Is that good for a trail riding bike? I want as close to stock as I can get.. So should I look for new cylinders? Or are these fine? I can get the numbers off the one good wierdo piston if that would help? Thanks guys, sorry im new to Shee's and new to Boring and such!

If its bored 40 over i believe that should be 358cc. but if you could get the number that would be great. Seen it happen when someone told one size and then turns out being another. it should be a good trail bike. since your piston is garbage you should have a engine builder look at your cylinder because it could be trashed.

Welcome to the addiction we call banshee.

Welcome to BHQ!

If its bored .40 over you'll be just fine. Cylinders will be okay up to .80 over. Call Wildcard Racing and send them your cylinders, they will take care of you.

Welcome to BHQ! These bikes are so fun to ride and fun and easy to work on. Yeah as mentioned, the forum venders will be able to hook you up with a bore and pistons. If you budget allows, it might be a really good time to consider getting the cylinders ported a bit as well. Keep us posted on your results, there are a lot of helpful people on the forum in case you have questions.

The .50mm would make it .020 over so your at 352cc. Just like mentioned above you can go .080 and be ok.
