2strokesallday Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 welp Ive been thinking a lot about my banshee today. i recently started my new banshee build a few months ago and i'm almost done and had a thought about building a custom air box out of a sheet of aluminum since i have a stock one and thats just not gonna cut it : ) has anyone done this? Ive done searches and i cant find anything on it, i know it would add a lot more power but i don't wanna run no air box in the sand and my brain is having a problem trying to think of a good way to keep the majority of the sand out any wild ideas? p.s i have lots of pictures of the build but i have no idea how to put them up? So Cal Suspension Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Probably about 90% of the people who run pod filters run in sand only. Ditch the airbox, buy a new set of k&n pods with outerwears, and call it a day. Quote
2strokesallday Posted July 1, 2011 Author Report Posted July 1, 2011 well i have a 2in one ported stage iv from trinity and i'm running a k@n with outerwear but i'm still afraid its gonna get in there. maybe i'm being too precautions.... Quote

I ride 100% sand and every bike I have ever owned I've ran no air box with K&N's. Never had a single issue. Keep the filters clean and oiled, run some outerwears and you'll be good IMO. If your that against running no box, I guess you could fab something. Quote
2strokesallday Posted July 1, 2011 Author Report Posted July 1, 2011 ill just run the filter... but if sand gets in my motor i'm blaming yous haha Quote
Jereme6655 Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 occasionally when some ride with pods they wind up having to custom create a bracket to screw to the front of the pod to keep them from wobbeling off......we had to use some pretty big hose clamps on blue angels bike to keep them from wiggling off on the trails.......
