AKheathen Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Is it possible for a stator to give an accurate test reading but still be bad? yes Quote
papa-smurf Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 yes Do you mind sharing the explanation ? Quote
AKheathen Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Do you mind sharing the explanation ? well, you see, there is about 300-350 wraps per pole on the ignition winding, depending on manufaturer and wire size. i've seen where corners were cut to speed things allong, and the wraps were nit real organized, which they need to be to a certain degree, in order to make power... hell i even wrapped one of my first ones in somewhat of a hurry, and did it all over again after installing it to test. AKheathen Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 agreed good/bad, you still cannot ignore the fucked up jetting, lol. Quote
ceetwarrior Posted August 21, 2011 Author Report Posted August 21, 2011 Well guys, found this video. Thank god I'm not the only one dealing with this. Looks like I'll be buying a used OEM stator. Quote
jonvia Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 hmm sont call me dumb for thinking this, could a slipping clutch cause that? Quote
spurdy Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 hmm sont call me dumb for thinking this, could a slipping clutch cause that? No, a slipping clutch will rev high and go no where. The stator can provide good spark until a certain RPM and then fall off. It sounds like that could be your problem. SP Quote
