This may seem like a dumb question but i was looking on a OEM website for shift forks and it shows 13 twice and also a fork as 14, question do i need to order 2 #13's and a 14? I just wanna replace all the forks didnt know how many there actually were, the bike is a 98 and to my knowledge they are still factory. I just got done changing the shift shaft and it seems like it dont wanna shift at all i do is miss every gear, and ill be in a gear and it will just down shift on its own. Any other input would be good!!

Did you adjust the eccentric for the shift shaft when you installed it? It HAS to be done everytime the shift shaft is removed. There are a total of 3 forks in there- 2 are the same and 1 is different. All of this is covered in the service manual, you do have a service manual dont you? Don't ask how to do this, get a manual.

Yes I do have a clymer guess I didnt think to look in there, and we did set that screw up made sure of it, that is also brand new also is the star and the roller, so I hoping the forks will do the job.

if its shifts on its own, sounds like your shift star roller detent spring is getting weak. I have a walkthrough of the bottom end assembly at the top of the repairs and mods section. there is also a link to it in my signature.
