banshee36
I was torquing my cylinders down to 20ft lbs and the cylinder stud pulled the helicoil right out. There are no threads left in the cylinder for a timesert or helicoil to hold onto, tried loctite too. Is there anything I can do that can save this cylinder? ban565
try a product called liquid threat to hold the helicoil in place
lms1977
If you can't find a oversized timesert you could take a bolt or threaded rod and drill and tap it for the stud and then drill and tap the cyl for the rod. It's a pain but it works . Good luck
BigRed350x
Have a professional welder weld the stud hole up, then re-drill and re-tap. You will probably have to have a machine shop deck the top of the cylinders after the welding. After the decking you will probably have some positive deck height on the pistons and will need to get some cut domes or a thicker base gasket to take up the deck height. bansheesrtoys
might be cheaper to just find a used jug off ebay.jmo
