frog Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 I just aquired a set of 472 serval cylinders and was wondering what size carbs would be best.I have a set of pwk 35 or are these carbs to small. also will be running shearer bb inframe pipes.Thanks. Quote
BUILDER Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 I would think those carbs would work okay you would probably be a little better with 39's but 35's would run it. Quote
RadarRacing Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 The servals make pretty good hp with even smallish carbs. I know the 4 mil Nate McCoy was testing in the development of the serval a while back made i think 84hp with stock carbs and surprisingly only made 3 or 4 more HP with 35s and 38s. Quote
NickisGod Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Just a though. Bb are for the 535 and higher. I use sb on 485 cheetah. Idk maybe some one else will chime In. I know that's off topic, but your 35s should be fine. 1 Quote
gotta_goatsfast Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 I side with Nick. Small bore inframes will yeild better results. Quote
RadarRacing Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 The bigbore/smallbore thing is always a debate. Small bores will probably run a bit better for sure and rev a few hundred more RPM for sure but the bigbores should run well on it. Quote
frog Posted June 7, 2011 Author Report Posted June 7, 2011 Well I went for my first rip with the jugs installed and it hauls ass. If I'm losing with the bb pipes I can't tell. I'll try my small bore pipes tomorow to see the difference. Quote
frog Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Posted June 10, 2011 I'm no expert but I don't notice any difference. They both run strong! Quote
camatv Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 due to the CC and the power delivery of a serval i would say a BB would be better. should have better lower end. the 485 PV cheeta would also possibly be a lil better on the low end with the BB's/. but you'd probably not be able to tell a HUGE diff in the 2 pipes.. frog Posted June 13, 2011 Author Report Posted June 13, 2011 I ran both all weekend and the onle thing I noticed was the small bore pipes ran hotter.Other then that good luck telling the difference.I even tried my cpi small bore pipes and the shearer smoke them. You can feel the difference between the cpi and the shearers .I wish we had a dyno machine in this shit hole town to see the difference in HP. Well anyways I'm done and the big bores shearers WIN! NO NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE in power. Quote
