front shocks seized

i got an 87 shee that's been sitting for a few years, and the front shocks are very stiff.

if i stand on the front bumper an jump it'll only move a couple inches.

is there anyway to fix this short of buying new shocks?

Unfortunately, no. They are not rebuildable shocks. But it sounds like it may be your balljoints or a-arm pivot bushings that are seized. If the shock is moving a few inches, there is nothing stopping it from moving it's full stroke. I would pull the shocks off, jack up the front of the quad by the frame, and check for fluid movement of all of your front components. After sitting for a few years, I wouldn't be surprised if it's something else, rather than your shocks.
