06specialedition Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 If your going to do it, do it right. I wouldn't mess around just re-ringing it. Whats your compression? Wildcard has everything you need and has great prices. Quote
yamahaman244 Posted May 23, 2011 Author Report Posted May 23, 2011 Well right side is around 135 and left tonight was pretty low I just quite kicking if I take the right plug out and leave the left in its like both are out not much there Quote
Zwiser Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 if its under 110 psi its time for a rebuild, id just do pistons and all, so then you can ride for another 200hrs and not have a problem. make sure you correctly break it in afterwards. Quote
Burt Reynolds Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 I have never found cheaper than ebay. Especialy if you run wsm wich i do. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 It's a calculated risk. If piston to cyl clearance is well within tollerance and taper/out of round, you could get away with just rings. But depending on tollerances you probably won't get 200 hours more on just rings. Be sure to use new piston pin cir-clips. I had to tear my son's down after he filled the motor with muddy water and just put rings in it. This is why you don't want to down your bud with the blown 450. Quote
