SAVAGE420 Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Grab some blue lock tight and put some on the threads. Now hit that bitch for a few seconds with an impact gun or 60 FTLBS if your anal about TQ specs. Problem solved Chance. Quote
yamahaman244 Posted May 19, 2011 Author Report Posted May 19, 2011 thanks chris um...also im getting a new key way it was worn pretty bad and ill do that thanks for the help do i need to get it all in spec or can i jus use a impact tell it stops moving Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Just zing it on tight with lock tight or 3 grunts with a socket/ratchet. Quote
Rotax Raptor Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 This is what I do to solve this problem. Get some lapping compound and put it in the crank and fly wheel. Lap the fly wheel to the crank until it becomes pretty hard to turn by hand. Clean both crank and fly wheel with carb cleaner to get all if the grit off. Buy a oem fly wheel key and a new nut. Use blue locktite on the threads and hit it with an impact. Some after market keys don't fit right and the threads on the nut will sometimes become stretched after tightening them so I always us a new nut. This theory has worked every time for me. Good luck. Burt Reynolds Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 i have never had to use loc tite on the flywheel nut,but its a good idea. If my flywheel nut came loose i would be taking off the clutch cove and making sure the main gear nut is still on. Quote
Loc Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Just had mine come loose the other day. Bike did the same thing. Blue loctite and an impact will take care of the problem. Quote
