gstaten24 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 So my friend jus picked up a new shee for 500 bucks that doesn't shift into gear. When u hold the clutch in it will turn over and verything but it won't go into gear, I was thinking either a shift fork or the shift star is bad what do u guys think? Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Pull the cover off and make sure the star is on tight, shift shaft and springs is in place and not broken, bent or worn out. Check the detent arm, also check the eccentric screw that its adjusted right and still there. If all checks out, well then pop open case open and have a peek at the drum, gear clusters, shift forks and shafts. Quote
BigRed350x Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Your probably going to have something wrong down around the shift shaft. Pull the clutch basket off and check it out. You can buy all the shift shaft stuff for under $100. Should be an easy fix. Also check your clutch cover for wear. It has a little tab that holds the shift shaft in place and prevents it from slipping off the cogs on the shift star. Quote
