i dont think you have to but to be sure ...........if you put the boyeson power reeds in stock ported cages do you need to run the reed guard thingys?? thanks once again

Well I've got boyeson pro reeds and no stops, never had a problem, I got a small brass plate with my reeds that screws in overtop of the reeds to hold them in place, I also have ported cages an never had an issue

I run VF3s now, but before I ran the exact setup youre asking about on those triple ported cylinders. I believe its because of the composition of the reed material that theyre not needed.
