I have the e-brake unplugged at the lever and behind the radiator. Does the plug up top need to be grounded out in anyway or anything like that? Quote
AustinK Posted March 31, 2011 Author Report Posted March 31, 2011 Alright guys so minus the jets being waayyyy off, it now revs. I removed the wire completely and unplugged the box for the e-brake rev limiter. It now revs up terribly but hey it revs. Jets will be ordered tomorrow and this thing should be on the trails in no time! Thanks again for all the help!! Quote
AustinK Posted April 11, 2011 Author Report Posted April 11, 2011 Alright so I took the bike out for the first ride yesterday. So got it off the trailer, kicked it over started first try and idled like a dream. The carbs aren't tuned in all the way yet but getting there. Now the problem is once the bike gets warm and I try to let off the clutch in first one cylinder sounds like it dies out and then the bike shuts off. The other cylinder still hits like a champ no issues. What could this mean. Also after it dies if you try to kick it back over it won't start unless you roll start or jump start it. I also upped the jets to 32o and i'm 400' above sea level. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 okay.....so you changed out the main jets to 320's.....but what about the pilot jets? it sounds like your pilot jets are too small. My bike used to do the same thing.....the previous owner had the stock sized pilot jet in it and aftermarket pipes on it. it would bog out like a bastard and required you to pump the hell outta the throttle just to keep it running. once it got past 1/2 throttle the thing would come alive........i pulled my pilots out and put 27.5's which are the next size up and the thing runs like champ now.... Jereme6655 Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 cause you've had one cylinder running really good and the other one wasn't firing at all. chances are what was happening was since one cylinder was firing it was burning the fuel....but since the other one wasn't.....it probably loaded it WAY up and flooded the one cylinder.....making it hard to fire.
