muggzy Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Wondering if anyone has experienced this; I have a stock airbox with the top drilled out, K&N filter with pro flo adapter and outerwear prefilter covering the holes on top of the airbox. When hit a puddle, the spash sometimes hits the outerwears cover and the engine races and wont shut off with the kill switch. Choke will kill it. Quote
KlotzBanshee Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Yes. Water isn't gas, therefor water in the air/fuel mixture causes a lean condition making your engine race...not good. Check your carb tops also, it may be getting in through there rather than your aibox and filter. And may want to try to avoid crashing through big water puddles in the future. Quote
muggzy Posted March 12, 2011 Author Report Posted March 12, 2011 Yeah, I was thinking fhe water would clog the intake, making it choke (rich) but you're making a lot of sense. I coundn't understand why it woud behave lean, but that water must be atomizing when it hits the filter. Quote
