700vflash Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Well I just bought a set of 28mm pwk's and after checking out the pinned jetting sheet I have decided to start with 155 main's and 50 pilot's. sea level, intake port clean up, timing +4, t-5's, .030 shaved head, stock stroke, and 66mm pistons. Do those size jets sound like a good starting point? Quote
ECshee Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Sounds about right. Depending on your weather temperature, if your like some of us in the cold, i might bump your main and pilot up a size or two. so 160 - 165 and a 50 - 55 pilot? maybe? let us know how it works out. Quote
700vflash Posted March 10, 2011 Author Report Posted March 10, 2011 Thanks, I am in Florida and is mostly 80-90 degree weather with high humidity. Quote
rdzbangshee Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 i ran my 28 pwk duels with 45 152 and it ran racey so i jetted it up for the cold weather to 55 and a 170 at 333ft at 30 degrees anything richer and i lose power runs nice now, i just need to get some more jets to play with . Quote
700vflash Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 Thanks, I am coming from a 2 into 1 intake and can't wait to get the duals hooked up. What would be a good staring point for the clip on the needle? Quote
700vflash Posted March 15, 2011 Author Report Posted March 15, 2011 I have two questions about the 28's that I cant find. The spring loaded screw coming out at a downward angle just behind the slide on the intake side, what is that one for? Are there any tubes/vents that need to be connected between each carb, I hear guy's saying that without some tube connected to the stockers that it will not run, never had any stockers so I don't know? One for each carb. Carbs must be sychronized when doing this. -The tube connecting the stock carbs is you "choke tube". The PWK's have a choke on each carb, so there is no connecting tube to worry about. Each carb is completely on it's own. Hope that helps. Quote
700vflash Posted March 17, 2011 Author Report Posted March 17, 2011 Thanks, last carb I had, had the idle and choke on the same knob, single intake. Waiting for my filters and sync tool now. As is, it starts on the very first kick, every time!! Quote
