hey guys. i'm going to be building a +4mill long rod motor, w/.080" dune ported jugs, ported case, 15:1 UCCR, 34mm TMX carbs, and pod filters. i want to know if you guys were in my shoes, which pipes would you choose between the two. which pipe has easier access to the spark plugs? do either pipe require fender cutting/trimming? don't care about loudness/db's, as sound ain't a problem.

I love my CPI's they have great mid and rip really hard on top. Yeah you will have to cut your fenders a bit.

I've heard the R2's are suppose to be great, but don't have any experience with them.

IMHO I don't think you could go wrong either way.

I have ran both the CPI and R-2s and I have R-2s on my bike the R-2 will come on just as early as CPIs but will rev out longer and personally I think they look better.

Yeah, I personally like the look of the R2's better, but I don't want to really have to trim the hell outta my fenders, as I like the look of my stock fenders and not so much trimmed fenders. So, does anyone know which pipe allows easier access to the plugs when checking jetting? Also, I found a dyno sheeof rockets (maybe originals?) And cpi's and both pipes pulled the same exact HP, on the particular engine setup that was dynoed. The TQ numbers were pretty much the same, w/only .1 lbs difference. It did show the Rockets rev out ever so slightly longer. Can't remember now which pipe came on sooner.

I disagree with that, but every motor and personal opinion is different. get the CPI's I have raced against a few similar setup bikes with R2's and that won me over to keep my CPI's

R2's look awesome tho

Racing also has a lot to do with rider ability but no kock against CPIs there a great pipe also

Having run both....you cant go wrong either way. :headbang:

I agree, did you feel like the R-2s pulled a lil harder mid thru top and rev out a lil longer ?
