frog Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 I just built another 421 cub and was wondering how 38 carbs (pwk)would be instead of my 35's.I mostly fly down back roads and try to out run my kids who are now going buy me.The jugs have clean up port job to them.I know I'll lose a little bit out of the hole but or will it drown .Thanks. If you are strictly drag racing then the bigger carb would benefit you. You will loose low end throttle response though. Have you tried re-gearing for a little more top end speed? Quote

Fuck it I went with drag porting with 39mm carbs.I was only getting beat on the straight aways. We go at a quick pace all the time and trust me the top end is un-real.It comes on at about 4000 rpms instead of 3000.If I wanted bottom end that was predictable I would drive my yfz 450. gotta_goatsfast Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I'm sure your powerband doesn't start at 4000rpm... My Serval cub won't start until 5500 or so. I agree with BigRed, try gearing up a bit for a little more top speed. What quads are you usually running against? Quote
camatv Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 put 41mm lectrons on it and switch to alky Quote
