hi i am purchasing a pair of dmc 916 exhaust for 200$ they are still in really good shape, but the person i am buying them from just told me that there was a small hole drilled in each pipe for EGT probes. (3/16") . but she is going to give me the prboes and gage. but i have no idea what these EGT probes are or what they do just wondering if anyone could give me a little more insight on what these probes do.

Thanks: Trevor

EGT probes are the sensors that measure exhaust gas tempurature within the exhaust pipe. The gauge, well that just interprets the probe so that you can read it.

If you really want to monitor your exhaust gas tempurature then find a spot to mount the gauge... otherwise you should just consider plugging the holes with something very shallow or by welding them shut.. Just curious, where were the holes drilled into the pipe?
