wacko2000 Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Whats up Guys, I bought a New direct drive lockup and cover, Clutch was slipping so figured this would help. I have a new FAST clutch going in also, Is there anything i should know before installing the lockup, any tips or secrets for me. I have never installed a lockout, so any pics or words would be great. Thanks PS.. Our search bar sucks!! Its prob the only thing that about the HQ that really is terrible. Quote
Phelps Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 tighten the lockout unit bolts as even as possible and make sure the bottom cams stay folded in. first one i installed i did it like the individual bolt and spring and broke the inner hub. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Get 3 bolts that are longer than the ones provided with the lockup. That way, you can easily thread those 3 bolts and snug the lockup down without having to fight the tension of the springs. Once those 3 bolts are screwed in enough to allow the shorter bolts to easily screw in without applying pressure to the lockup, put the 3 shorter bolts provided in the other slots, unscrew the longer bolts and replace them with the shorter length bolts. BigRed350x Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Try running the lockup without any weights on it first on your setup. You aren't running alky or any high HP drag setup, you don't need all the weight on the lockup. JMO Quote
