VictorK Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 My banshee runs perfect when its warm, plugs look great and all. When its cold it won't start at all but if I use the hair drier to warm the carbs it fires right up. Any thoughts? Stock pilots in 800ft to 1200ft above sea Quote
J-Madd Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 You could try turning in the air screws. You can also spray some carb cleaner on the filters, BUT there's no reason you shouldn't be able to get it to start in the cold on GAS. We have to use the carb cleaner trick with alky in the cold. VictorK Posted December 27, 2010 Author Report Posted December 27, 2010 I really only messed with the air screws while it was running so maybe that will help. What's the least amount they should ever be turned out? Quote
banshee55 Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 The least amaount should be 1 1/2 to 2 1/4 turns out Quote
Jereme6655 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 your runnin aftermarket pipes and stock pilot jets........your lean on the pilot circuit. go get some 27.5's and run those....it'll help your bike not only during the cold for start up.......but it will help your bike all year round as aftermarket pipes really need to run 27.5 pilot jets.... I agree you need a bigger pilot. You can go less than 1 1/2 turns but if do you are most likely needing a bigger pilot. It does not hurt to turn them down to a half turn for testing purposes. And are you sure your choke is working properly? Crossover tube in place, bowls on the correct carbs??? They are not the same. Quote
