7beast Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) Hey guys and gals had some quick questions. my quad is a 1987 which ofcourse is a j-arm frame. iam getting a really good deal on a 97' banshee frame. my question is will my spindles, hubs and rotors from my j-arm bike work with the a-arms?? please help thanks and any other opinions will be greatly appreciated Edited December 15, 2010 by 7beast Quote
7beast Posted December 15, 2010 Author Report Posted December 15, 2010 ok so everything should just bolt right up to my stock a-arms??? Quote
bansheesandrider Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Yes they actually made the spindle change ion the 1990 models, so 1990s have jarms with the late style spindles. You can use your early spindles with A arms, but if you want to add YFZ(dual piston) calipers to it you will need to have the late style spindles. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 and you also need to remember to tell the parts guy the year of the bike your calipers came from as the earlier 87-90ish had larger brake pads and will not fit on the newer style calipers Quote
7beast Posted December 15, 2010 Author Report Posted December 15, 2010 thanks alot for all the info fellas iam glad i dont have to also buy spindles, rotors etc... Quote

Trick2stroke Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 so then does this mean i cant use newer 91-06 front calipers on my 87-90 spindles??? Correct. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 x2 like trick said....you cant use the 91-06 pads on the 87-90 calipers i know the 91-06 pads are SMALLER than the 87-90 pads.....and i believe the calipers were actually larger for the early years. Quote
7beast Posted December 19, 2010 Author Report Posted December 19, 2010 Correct. thanks a bunch Blake Quote

7beast Posted December 22, 2010 Author Report Posted December 22, 2010 ok fellas i have one last question about this subject, will my 87' hubs and rotors work with 91-06 spindles and calipers???? thanks alot in advance Quote
JKJK Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Yes.The only difference between the two Knuckles is the mounting points for the calipers. Your complete older set up will work on the newer set up as long as you use your older calipers too. Quote
