Quote
bansheedude55 Posted December 12, 2010 Author Report Posted December 12, 2010 yea it ran before i ripped her apart, i just wanted to renew everything, cause it was runnin rough and it was on the stock rebiuld so... i mean i looked over the wires and the flywheel they are good and so is the coil i dont think its the cdi though thats practically new so maybe im thinking grounds? but i dnt like fuckin with wires man i hate it Quote
sangheraent Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 did you test your stator with a multimeter? iv had like 4 stators go bad. it will still run with a shitty cdi but itll take like 100kicks and it will run like shit. I also heard it will run wierd when your coil is shot. i also had a brand new rm stator only give me spark 1 out of 4 kicks. my advice buy a multimeter 10 bucks and it will tell you everything. if there is an electrical problem.....Iv had it. lights blown out bad cdi bad coil bad stator bad brand new stator(now this one is a bitch) on off switch rusted key switch faulty. (i even sold the banshee once and it came back seriously i still have it) Quote
bansheedude55 Posted December 12, 2010 Author Report Posted December 12, 2010 im gunna go try and buy a multimeter, and see whats up,,, if not im just gunna bring it to my local yamaha dealer Quote
Larry's Shee Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 If you take it to the stealership get ready to bend over and take it like a man. Don't give up so easy , they aren't any smarter then you are and you have dozens of people here to help you . On my son's shee I had to pull the flywheel , clean the poles on the stator (rust) , inside of flywheel, lugs on outside of flywheel , gap pick-up. Obviously coil, wires , and caps aren't the problem. Check all conecters both male/female for corrosion ,add dab of di-electric grease. check or bypass switches. Is tors box and parking brake box dis abled? Last thing to try would be another cdi if you can borrow one. Stock stator? Quote
bansheedude55 Posted December 12, 2010 Author Report Posted December 12, 2010 yes its the stock stator and man i hate fuckin with wires! hahah id rather have yamaha do it cause knowing me ill fuck something up haha Quote
Larry's Shee Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 If you were closer you could pay me $80+ per hour to clean the terminals with a dremel or sandpaper , clean the grounds ,etc. , etc. If you hate effing with wires , you either drive a 69 chevy our your sunk Either in the Clymers or on the site is a wireing diagram. Get a can of electrical contac cleaner and di-electric grease from auto parts store. Quote
