jimj64 Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Changing the needle will in no way whatsoever affect the pilot jet. The needle doesn't play any part in the jetting until ~1/4 throttle, at idle the slide is closed (more or less) and the needle is all the way down, the only fuel flow is through the pilot, or at least it's supposed to be. If you have to open up the slide enough for the needle to affect idle there is something wrong somewhere. Quote

bellracing2 Posted November 29, 2010 Author Report Posted November 29, 2010 OK , I got the eek needle in it , and had to go to a 55 pilot . a/s still @ .5 out , but it runs real good . how does the idle adjuster on a 34 pj work ? what is it metering ? I have to have my choke knob/idle adjuster almost all the way up to get it to run good . when its off choke it runs real good , when I pull up on the choke it dies instantly , so I would figure I am not lean especially considering the way it revs up and comes back to idle instantly , but snop is right , the eek needle makes it run much better !
