  1. Changing the needle will in no way whatsoever affect the pilot jet. The needle doesn't play any part in the jetting until ~1/4 throttle, at idle the slide is closed (more or less) and the needle is all the way down, the only fuel flow is through the pilot, or at least it's supposed to be. If you have to open up the slide enough for the needle to affect idle there is something wrong somewhere.
  2. For what it's worth: I will be starting off with the Serval as cast cylinder, trinity stage IV head w/20cc domes, FMF Gnarlies with Turbine Core II silencers, stock reed cages with Boyesen 2 stage reeds, UMI aluminum intake adapter plate with K&N filter and open airbox lid, Trinity 2-1 intake with Keihin PWK35 bored to 36.3. I will be starting engine assembly this afternoon and hopefuly will have it all buttoned up tomorrow. Unfortunately my frame and suspension are still at the poweder coaters so it will be a couple weeks before I can actually get it in the frame and running. If I am not happy with the results, the first change will be to a set of Mikuni TM28's on modquad billet intakes, after that I will use a set of Pro Circuit pipes. I am also building a spare motor at the same time, it consists of stock cylinders with a trinity Pro MX port job, ported for a 4mil stroker, Trinity Stage IV head with cut domes for the stroker and the Mikuni 28's/Pro Circuit pipes. Basically I'm using what I have to build the 2 motors. I have already arranged for a full day of dyno time in late November at a local bike shop to test/tune/compare the two engines with the different combo's of carb and exhaust. I will be putting my spare engine into my son in laws banshee to save time swapping parts and motors. Jim J
  3. Better be a Serval, that's what I ordered. I posted pics in my album, I have to resize them to attach them to a post.
  4. I just received my Serval kit from Trinity yesterday. I have to say their service was exceptional. Less than a week from the day I ordered til they arrived at my door (I live In Canada so that's quick). For $1305 Cdn I received the cylinders/piston/coolant plugs/Stage IV head with domes/12 point nute and stud extenders. The cylinder casting are cleaner than any OEM Yamaha or Suzuki castings I've seen and overall they look great. Between now and the weekend I'll be getting my garage organized (I have 3 projects on the go and it's a little crazy in thier). I plane to have the engine reassemble by the end of the weekend. I will be putting in a Trinity modded shift drum, a complete Hinson 8 plate bullet clutch assembly, new shift forks, all new bearings and seals, adjustable timing plate and some shiney pieces to top it off. Now I just need to get all of my stuff from the powder coaters.... What is the best way to attach pics? Jim
  5. I've been wondering the same thing, I'll be running a Serval monoblock and was wondering about the FMF Gnarly'e. According to FMF they are supposed to be a bottom/mid pipe, has anyone got any experience with them?
  6. I've been looking at those on maiers site. I kinda like the different look, gives the Shee a more modern appearance. I don't like the way the color shows up in the photo though, they look like kind of a funny pink. I would like to see some better pics once you have it all put together. Jim
  7. Hi, I just picked up an 87 Shee with a 4 mil long rod crank in it with no top end. I would like to pick up a complete Cheetah top end for it, let me know what you have. Thanks, Jim J
