Hey guys-

Quick question...

I'm leaving to go on a ride this weekend in MI. Today I noticed a small amount of fuel on the floor (gas on). It's coming from the overflow tube on the choke carb side. I know this usually means that the float might me a little off, but the bike is running awesome. Just put in #290 main per toomey for the weather change. Is a little gas normal if it sits for a few days?

Sounds like you may have bumped the float when you changed the main jet. If you don't want to mess with it just always shut the fuel off when you start. If it's just a small amount you should be ok for now. I just pull it apart and check the float height if it was me.

thanks. It was doing this before the jet was changed...I actually tapped on the float bowl with a screw driver handle and went for a ride. Looks good, let's see what happens. It's a real small amount of gas, so I am not too concerned. How about the needle and seat?

my shee does the same thing.....itll leak just a small amount of fuel if i leave the pet cock in the on position. i know its just a VERY slightly misadjusted float bowl......but its such a small amount that its using it when the motors runnin so its not leakin. hasn't hurt anythign yet and its still runnin strong...

Thanks man! I also have a full tank of gas, so that's a lot of pressure sitting on the needle and seat. It's probably just a float that is slightly out of adjustment like you said, not sure its worth messing with, but I will keep my eye on it and if it gets worse - I'll fix it.
