ACOLDTO1L3TS3AT Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) A while ago, I saw a 1994 banshee that was for sale, astonishingly for $1,000... you already know what it was, straight to the bank. Unfortunately it didnt have titles(yeah yeah). So I called the dmv and had the vin ran and wasnt reported stolen, last history of it was a lean on the title in 97 for the guy not paying monthly notes and was up for repossession, so he probably sold it without papers. (the dmv told me all details) but thats besides the point. so since I dont have title, and cant get it registered I was gonna sell it probably, or buy a new frame with titles. Basically what I made this thread for, what is the exact purpose of having to have it registered? I just dont see the big deal. Edited October 29, 2010 by ACOLDTO1L3TS3AT Quote

Otherwise you are rockin a quad that you can only LEGALLY ride on private property. Not worth it IMO... Brad Quote
DallasGDub Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Depends on the state laws you ride in. I ride TX and OK. OK does not require any papers or permit to ride on state parks or private land. TX does require a sticker to ride on public land, however, 99% of the riding areas are private unless you are way out in the middle of nowhere. So no need to ride on public land anyways. I was told Glamis requires to have a title in hand or it is a fine if your are busted riding without it. Quote
06specialedition Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Its a must here in Utah where I ride. They check your stuff like crazy, and will tow your bikes if not currently registered. I like my 06 shee is only like 40-50 bucks a year....yeah that sucks, but its worth being able to ride some nice dunes here Quote
ACOLDTO1L3TS3AT Posted October 29, 2010 Author Report Posted October 29, 2010 Understood, so basically whats the difference between titles and registration? I have a car and banshee and still dont understand it haha... Quote

And my wifes trailblazer is like $65. Quote

I have a car and banshee and still dont understand it haha... It means it requires a Title to get it registered. Some states do not require you to get it registration, but require you to have a title in hand. Other states do not give a shit either way. Quote
