yamahaman244 Posted October 28, 2010 Author Report Posted October 28, 2010 Mine makes that same sound I was thinking it could be your water impeller crank bearings or clutch basket... does it get louder on the other side by the impeller? ya i dont think its the crank u can hear it on the flywheel side but is louder on the clutch side so ya clutch/impeller side so im thinking something is loose or something is wrong just don know were to start is there a bearing that goes by the water pump how long has yours been making that sound mines still starts and runs fine just makes that noise at idle Quote
donkeypuncher Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 i started hearing that same noise a couple of years ago. wasn't sure what it was and i couldnt find the problen, i just figured my motor was over 5 years old and it needed rebuilt. so i tore her apart and freshened her up a little. when i put her back together and fired it up i still had the same nois. so my theory is that it's a sound my bike (aswell as yours) has always made, you just never noticed it untill now. i've listened to a few other banshee's and they make the same sound.
