Compression ?

Hey guys, I ran a comp test on my shee the other day just for giggles. I came up with 110psi in the left and 105 in the right. Now i have a cool head on it but i just got the quad a few wks ago and i havent pullled the head to check what domes are in it yet. Would anybody have an idea just by the numbers i gave. Also what is the smallest dome i can run pump gas with. Around here i can get Sunoco 93 out of the pump. THanks

...just want to say this.

 

I had exactly same numbers in my -06 low hour cylinders. After new pistons, bore & hone I did the compression check and it was only few PSI´s higher! Guess what, I had a leaking tester!! LOL! After knowing that I did it with a better tester and it was good but not as high as it should be with my milled head... Hmmmm after I looked around the forum I did a squish test... guess what - my basegasket was too thick and my squish was huge!

 

Now I know - double check everything!

That compression sounds super low..... Rebuild time?!?

 

I want to say 160-170 is where you should be running race gas, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the input guys. I thought it seemed low also. I found that stock is about 125. So this weekend im gonna check my guage and also pull the head off and see what domes i have. I really dont want to rebuild this thing till after the winter. I mean its running awesome right now.

hell i say run it till you feel a drop in power.. my 96 has 110 in both. runs awesome.. so just my .02
