idle screw doesnt do anything. help please

i eliminated the tors and installed the included idle screw kit. but it doesnt seem to do anything to adjust the idle... i've got a week and a half to dial my shee in before i head off to pismo so any help will be much appreciated

You probably need to file down the nub that the idle screw screws into. Just pull you slide out and see how far in it goes.

Like said above, grind it down some more, but don't go overboard.

Week and a half you can dial it in 1000 times.

Or you can take the lock nut off and put a small spring on instead. Without the locknut, the idle screw will turn in further.

you sure you don't have the slides backwards or flipped?

they are filed down to 3/4 inch like in the directions

so if you accidentally switched the left slide to the right carb and vice versa the idle screws will be worthless?

3/4" is alot of meat left.

 

Don't switch the slides or even the bowls on those carbs!

i may have switched the slides when i eliminated the tors unfortunately... ill take them apart later on today or friday and see what my situation is. im savin up money to invest in pwk 28mm so is goin through all this trouble worth it?
