New here to the forums, looks like a good site for a lot of good info. Picked up an 05 banshee not to long ago for $1800 in pieces. He had receipts for everything done, just really really needed the money i guess. Anyway, Im puttin it together right now, just kinda curious on what to expect as far as hp numbers?? Engine mods: 4 mill long rod stroker, drag ported, milled head, comp 150 psi, vforce 3's, 36mm mikunis, out of frame drag pipes, k&n filters, pro fire coil. Ive built a few 4 strokes and a few 250r's but this is my first built shee. Any advice or suggestions to get the most out of this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to BHQ !! Get a Clymers manual , read as much as you can here , especially drag and jetting forum. How many " pieces" was it in? If the motor is down , look it over closely, Mic the bores and pistons to be sure everything is within spec before you put it back together.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah i tore the motor down the day i picked it up to mic everything and had a buddy that does a lot of banshee porting check the port job out and some other misc things, it all looked pretty good. The reason the guy told me the rest was torn down was that after he had the motor built he made about 6 300 ft passes and waded it up pretty bad on his last run and twisted the frame. He said it was scary fast which is what im hoping for lol. The powder coated frame i got with the deal is suppose to be brand new. The drag pipes are dented up a little bit, i heard filling them with water and freezing them will pop the dents out?

Seems I saw something about the pipes. Depending on the dent might have to do several freeze/thaws. Couple expandable plugs for the ends. Let us know how it turns out !!

Yeah i was gonna have the ends welded shut but some expandable plugs would be a lot easier. Thanks for the tip bud.
