screw it all the way in til it bottoms out then slowly screw it out until the claws are equal distance from the shift star pins then lock the nut down while holding the bolt still.

When adjusting the eccentric are you guys clicking the trans into gear and adjusting the claw evenly between the two pins on the star or are you adjusting it with the bike in neutral with just the one (1st gear) pin between the claw. My neutral down likes to be adjusted down a hair but it might just be my foot?

i had one of those extreme duneable overide tranmissions that i had to do that with.

when in neutral, the shift detent peg would not rest fully centered between the points on the shift star.

i had to put in gear so that it would rest, centered between the shift star points to adjust the shifter.

make sense, is that what you are refering to? :shrugani:

exactly, and i did mine in neutral if i remember correctly. it is a very fine adjustment though, it may take some playing to get it right.

Thanks for all the help guy's I have a couple more questions. What is the easiest way to torque the ecentric screw nut. I still have the drive gear above the shift shaft installed and aslo the kick starter gear. Also while looking at the clymers on the shift shaft it says there is a oil seal there caling it it looks like a washer in the picture. when I took mine apart this part was not there that I seen. All that was there was the plastic bushing and the spring. Is this part necessary.
