Vintage Smoke Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 I believe it comes down to federal guidelines. - 3 or less wheels = motorcycle - 4 wheels = car. That's why you don't see a 4 wheel version of something similar to a Can Am Spyder. That is for NEW vehicles being manufactured for sale and MOST municipalities follow federal regulations. You will see various states that let "variations" of the federal guidelines slip through for whatever reason. Quote
