Vintage Smoke Posted October 7, 2010 Report Share Posted October 7, 2010 I believe it comes down to federal guidelines. - 3 or less wheels = motorcycle - 4 wheels = car. That's why you don't see a 4 wheel version of something similar to a Can Am Spyder. That is for NEW vehicles being manufactured for sale and MOST municipalities follow federal regulations.
