SheeMonster
Hi guys, Looking for some recommendations for gearing. Current Mods: 421 Stage 2 Cub Motor - All parts from Kevin Herr - Should be in the 90HP range. Cut Trans - no override - Still a 6 speed. Looking to run a +4 swinger. 20 tires (8 paddle Hauler) I only have the 8 paddle as an option in the hauler with a 9 inch rim. Riding Types: sand, trail and hill climbing. I am not lookiing for a drag setup for the sand (may play a little with a drag or two but not my main interest). Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks. Pasi S.
I would start with stock 14/41 and see how it goes. I think you have enough power to pull 15/41 or 15/40. I have 14/41 with my 20x11-10 8 V-padlle Sand Sharks and I think I´m going a little lower gearing like 13/42 and test it. I don´t know how much I have power but I think it´s between 45 and 55. -Pasi S.

YOu need some more tire (paddle and roll out).
Sandfrk33
Sprockets are cheap, try a few and see what feels right. I have a 4 mil stock cylinder hjr dune port. I ride nothing but sand with 15/40 and pull it just fine. I weigh 240 lbs too. Cub should have no problem with taller gearing
