Hooptiee Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 I just bought a Vito's Hemi head and this is my 1st aftermarket head I have ever messed with. I was wondering if a o ring goes between the dome and head? I got a modquad oring kit with the head and they told me that i dont need all the orings in that kit that it is a universal oring kit. Without the knowledge and instructions i dont want to screw something up by not running the required orings. I can see the grooves where the o ring goes between the dome and cylinder and the head and cylinder which would be 2 orings per side but not sure about any other locations for o rings like between the dome and head. If anyone else has this head and can give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it. Quote

If you go to vito's site there are 6 o rings in his kit. Quote
madjimmax Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 That head is made by Modquad there is quite a few people on the site thats running them and alf44 sells them. I run the old hemi head which is a 2 piece made by chariot. But yes one should be on top of dome where it goes through top of head at. A little tip for the big orings is to lightly coat them with vasoline and this helps them to stay in place during installation. And remember to retorque head after first heat cycle or it will leak.
