I personally torque to 20 run a heat cycle and retorque to 22 and never had any problems or leaking.

I've never used silicone for anything just the copper washers that the head came with. I do use just a little vasoline on the orings to hold them in while I'm getting everything together.

i did the vasoline an tourqed it down to 40 psi an antifreeze started to come up around all the head bolts, when i poured it in

psi is a pressure. Look again at what the units are on your torque wrench. Should be n*m or lb*ft or lb*in. It would help if we knew that you were actually torquing them to spec. which is ~20 ft*lbs. You could have also pinched one of the o-rings that is around the studs which would cause it to leak.

my bad ft pounds . got it all apart an im going to start all over in the morning.thanks for all the help im going to do 20 ft pounds then run then re do to 22 thanks too all!!!
