#1JUANstunna Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 I just got some PWK 28's and I don't think the throttle cable I got is the correct one. The slides don't go all the way down with this cable and the idle is back all the way off. Correct one or not? It's a Motion Pro cable part #01-0813 Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 i beleive you should be able to just get away with a tors elim cable. Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Looks right to me. Did you put them in the carbs to see if they seated correctly, or are you just assuming the spring should have slack? Quote
#1JUANstunna Posted August 19, 2010 Author Report Posted August 19, 2010 I installed them and they didn't go all the way down. Pulled them out and had to take the screw driver and push the plastic holder down over the cable end to get it to seat. Works fine now. Quote
#1JUANstunna Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 Ok guys I got these carbs on and installed. The slides hang up in them and it won't idle below about 3000 rpms. I need some input. The slides had some casting flows on them so I filed them off but they still catch. Now they are smooth. As far as the other problem I have the idle screws backed all the way out but still in and it idles really high. What's the deal here. This is my first set of PWK's and I'm not liking them. Quote

#1JUANstunna Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 what jets do you have in them? 150 Mains and 48 pilots with an air box, and no lid. Quote
#1JUANstunna Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 I found my problem. There is a hole in the pilot circuit. If you follow the pilot circuit down you can see the hole in it. It was getting plenty on fuel that way. Quote
#1JUANstunna Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 So the slides are good then? I went through the slides and cleaned up all of the casting burs off of them and they finally started operating smoothly. I can't believe how many casting blemishes are on these carbs. I'll post some pics of the inside of the carbs shortly. Quote
#1JUANstunna Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 The pics are hard to see but inside the back of the carb has casting flaws that I think would cause unwanted turbulence in the carbs. Quote
#1JUANstunna Posted August 22, 2010 Author Report Posted August 22, 2010 Here are a few better pics! Quote
