clutch414 Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Looks like going with the yfz 450 front shocks is clearly the way to go for my set up and the money. I still dont know what to do for the rear. Does the yfz rear shock work as well? If not does some one have any suggestions on what to do for the rear. I dont race, but i do like to jump, hit the trails and ride hard and fast. Any help would be great Thanks, Mike Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 The only thing I can tell you is to save up your money and wait for an Elka to come up for sale. Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Hey Mike. As the resident shock guy here at BHQ, I'd recommend you save up a little more money, and buy shocks that were designed for the banshee. YFZ shocks will work, but they won't be what you are expecting. Banshee stock shocks are 14.75" eye to eye, and YFZ shocks are 15.75" eye to eye. It takes a little work to get them mounted, as they are actually too long to be used with stock arms. A good entry level aftermarket shock, would be a set of Works Performance shocks. They can be had for roughly 200-300 bucks. On the lower end will be a single, or dual rate smooth body (non res), and on the upper end, will be a dual or triple rates with res's. What you do is totally up to you, but the cream of the crop would be a set of Elka's, or Axis shocks like Ryan mentioned above. Quote
