12 0 Clock P I M P Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 hey i just bought a 2000 banshee it has trinity stage 4 head (mayb the whole kit), bored to 386cc, k&n filters, bigger carbs (no clue what size or how to tell), v force reeds, 41t rear sprocket, ported and polished, 4mill crank (inside of the motor is unknown its what the seller told me) how much is a carb tune up/rejetting? it wont idle well any ideas? once i hit 6th gear i hav very little acceleration?? low end is poor? if you could help me with any of these question tht would b great The price will vary on who/what you need done.....it could be a turn of a screw or a complete rebuild won't idle - a lot of things.......bad plugs.....idle screw out of adjustment......float stuck....it is in your carb thats for sure...especially if you can run it with hitting the gas. the accelarations depends on some things as well.......gearing.....pipes.......what pipes do you have low end is poor also depends on gearing and pipes.......some banshees only haul ass in a high rpm.....depending also on port work.... if its a 4 mil set up its going to have power up top and boogie als ocan have an aggresive port for top end power........the low end will need to be found in other ways so what pipes do you have? you need to know if its ported especially with the 4 mil......and what kind of port...some of the builders here will know a little more Quote
Larry's Shee Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 Welcome to BHQ !! Take carbs apart ONE at a time and clean real well. Measure inside of carb at engine side for size.More info on set-up would be helpful , pipes ,air filter, riding elevation/temp. As far as jetting/carb tune most shops employ a mechanic named Ben Dover ,AKA Pay Out Your ASS. JMO, your results may vary. Quote
