hey guys just wondering do you need to worry bout balancing carbs even if you have the balance line between the two ?

I'm assuming you are referring to syncing the carbs. That tube that runs between the two, is called a choke tube. Since these carbs only have a choke on one side, that tube applies "choke" to both carbs, when the one side is pulled out. It is possible to do it without the tool, available from F.A.S.T., but I recommend you invest in one of the tools from Jeff.

i am running kehin carbs i was just wondering i am an industrial mechanic and when i got the bike the guy told me to just screw out on the choke to adjust the idle just on the left side and i got to thinking about it and am pretty sure they are not synched because of the years of just screwing in and out on the choke knob on one side and not ever touching the other ive been noticing lately it doesnt seem to be running as well but i really dont ride it enough to know for sure how can you do it without the tool i am mechanically inclined

Matt was referring to stock carbs. You have a set of Keihin PJs. The carbs should be synced at idle and off idle so the carbs won't work against each other affecting performance.
