bansheesandrider Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 (edited) Do you still have the park brake rev limiter on it? If so check for water in the switch by the clutch lever. You can disable it permanetely by cutting the green/yellow wire at the plug for the CDI box, just cut the wire on the bike side of the plug. Do not cut it on the CDI box side of the plug. It could also be a TORS problem, but that is less likely as the TORS will usually keep the bike from running at all. Edited May 22, 2010 by bansheesandrider Quote

Pigpen Posted May 22, 2010 Author Report Posted May 22, 2010 if the stator got wet am I screwed? Quote
volcrano Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 if the stator got wet am I screwed? no.just unplug everything and blow it with compressed air and put di-electric grease in there and put back together. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 I would at least pull the cover and see if it's wet. If you have puller pull flywheel and check for water/rust. Blow dry and clean, also check pick-up coil gap. Quote
Pigpen Posted May 22, 2010 Author Report Posted May 22, 2010 Would that account for it not getting to powerband? Quote
volcrano Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Would that account for it not getting to powerband? could but not really, very much doubt it.is ur parking brake on???is the plunger cut off?maybe it went bad and needs chopped?sounds like ur carb slides are in backwards.did u fuck with ur carbs at all or did it just get wet?if it ran fine before u washed it,something got wet and will eventually dry out, unless u pull shit and blow dry it!!!
