Hey guys

having a problem with the banshee just finished cleaning up my banshee and now it runs like crap, it will not even go near the power band and once it is warm smoke will only come out of one side then intermittently switch to the other I will be doing a leakdown later today

2003 banshee

It's jetted at 300 mains and 30 pilots

pro circuit platinum

it ran the same before I jetted the carbs also

idk what it is so anyhelp is greatl appreciated

thanks in advanced

if you just cleaned it up I would check all the connectors and the sparkplug boots

Do you still have the park brake rev limiter on it? If so check for water in the switch by the clutch lever. You can disable it permanetely by cutting the green/yellow wire at the plug for the CDI box, just cut the wire on the bike side of the plug. Do not cut it on the CDI box side of the plug. It could also be a TORS problem, but that is less likely as the TORS will usually keep the bike from running at all.

yeah if it just started when u cleaned it u got something wet.check all connections and gasket on ur stator side.if uve had it for a while because u stated it ran the same before jetting, make sure ur slides are in the right carbs.cutout on slide towards back, flat towards front.

if the stator got wet am I screwed?

no.just unplug everything and blow it with compressed air and put di-electric grease in there and put back together.

Would that account for it not getting to powerband?

could but not really, very much doubt it.is ur parking brake on???is the plunger cut off?maybe it went bad and needs chopped?sounds like ur carb slides are in backwards.did u fuck with ur carbs at all or did it just get wet?if it ran fine before u washed it,something got wet and will eventually dry out, unless u pull shit and blow dry it!!!
