you can hit it with the blaster, its stamped in the frame, paint or powder coat will fill in the stamps tho, i sandblasted my extra frame a couple weeks ago without a problem with the vin. when i sent it for powder i put a small peice of tape over the vin they may have put a couple more layers on im not sure but after powder or paint just remove the tape and your vin will be visable

if the frame has been blasted before it will wipe his number off trust me i know from personal experience
