steenasbanshee Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 (edited) how many ft/lbs should i torque my wheels to, and what psi in tires? Edited April 23, 2010 by steenasbanshee Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 For the lugs, 3 grunts or a good zap with an impact. For the tire pressure, depends on what tires, street, dirt ,sand and again what tires. I run rzr2 front and back on dirt, 4psi in the rear 5psi in the front. On sand it really depends on what tires and what your doing though. Run hauler B2B with 3psi for dunning, works good. Size of rims plays a roll also. Just play with some diff pressures and find what works best for you. Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 1 turn passed a red faced grunt, if ya farted ya went to far. Or the german method works to, guddentight Cody Quote
steenasbanshee Posted April 23, 2010 Author Report Posted April 23, 2010 lol, i guess it was a silly question. i just thought they were torqued down to a 100lbs like a car tire, guess its just the old fashioned way, lol Quote
bansheesandrider Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 The Yamaha manual says 32-33 foot pounds, and I have found that if you don't use a torque wrench and ride in sand that the next time you want to take them off it is just about impossible to get them broke loose without an impact wrench. If things are not torqued tight enough the they come loose, and if they are overtightened you might snap off a bolt or strip the threads out of a hole. The only way to know if they are tightened properly is to use a torque wrench properly. Quote
