The shorter shifters are for the people that have moved their pegs back and want to maintain the same relationship as before. If you want to move your pegs back and down, you can cut the peg off the mounting plate and reweld it to the plate between the mounting bolts. When you cut the right side off, leave the plate on the back part of the peg to make up for the step in the right mounting plate between the bolts. I think Cascade offers some "drag race pegs" that are moved back, bot alot of the race pegs are not recomended for jumping.

I could never find a shifter that felt right on the banshee (compare to my 700 and my old yfz) so i built this:

Works like a dream, now everyone I ride with wants me to make them one.

WTF Do you have two feet on one leg that you need two shifters? J/K looks like a good idea

Great idea on the double shifter, would be great for winter riding with boots.

As for the pegs or nerfs in alternate location, I have a pair of AC Pro Peg nerf bars that have the pegs lowered 2" and moved back 1" makes a huge diff in how the ergonomics of the quad feel.

ive been looking for something kinda like that double shifter for a while now, but i want to upshift with my heel... (lack of muscle to lift my foot, so upshifting takes my whole leg, or a retarded looking backwards hump...) so they make steel shifters... i might have to look into that...

I can't even ride my Shee with motocross boots. The pegs are too high and close to the shifter. What are people doing to remedy this? The newer quads have a much better peg location which lets you ride with mx boots right out of the box. The newer pegs are also wider. I cant stand having to pay constant attention to where my shifting foot is so that i can shift without missing. Missed shifts= lost races. I currently ride in Caterpillar construction boots because of the ankle movement it allows me. At least I never miss a shift but I would prefer to be able to ride in mx boots. What are the popular solutions?

I cut my pegs apart and moved the peg back and down so it now resides between the mounting bolts and welded the up. If you do this, make sure you know what you are doing when you weld them as there are incredible forces on the pegs when you jump or blaze through the rough stuff. This mod makes it much easier to move from a sitting position to a standing position on the bike as I have bad knees from playing youth football years ago. As I said before, there are some "race pegs" out there that do the same thing, but some of them are not built strong enough to hold up to jumping or even trail riding. Another alternative I have been told about is to put Blaster pegs on a Banshee, you have to use a longer bolt and a spacer on the right side to make up for the step on the frame where the right peg bolts on. After you move the pegs, you can modify the shifter and/or brake pedals as needed to fit your feet, there are both made of steel and can be bent, cut and welded as needed to fit.

Back in the day..........early in the HQ infancy it was determined that the banshee's OE ergonomics were designed for a small framed person, 5' 7" was the optimal height.
