hey i need some help i have a 4mm cheetah pv setup that i brought the problem iam having is that the clutch keeps slipping after riding for 10 mins or so when i first start it and do a warm up run its fine but after that it just start slipping very bad and this is a brand new clutch for the second time first i but a ebc and them someone told me i needed a better clutch so i brought a barrnet setup and used there springs with my direct drive lockout and my full hinson clutch setup which is hinson straight cut gears spring loaded basket, hinson hub and the hinson pressure plate, so i can use 8 plates instead of 7. Even with the 8 plates it still slips.

this is what i tried so far, changed the tranny, changed back to the stock basket hub and pressure plate, put power vale block offs in someone told me they might be sticking, and i opened the motor and went over every thing inside and all is normal but still i have the same problem

the only thing i have not tried is r6 motorcycle clutch plates and fiber someone told me that i need to put in there

is there anyone here that can help me please

thank you in advance

There is no reason that clutch should slip other than maybe oil type or clutch or cable not adjusted correctly. I'm assuming the clutch adjustment at the pusher is right and the lever is pointing at the arrow on the case correctly.

Use type "F" ford automatic trans fluid, or gear saver and then make sure you have about 1/8" of gap or freeplay in your clutch lever. Clutch fibers swell up when they get hot and if your clutch lever is adjusted tight with no free play at all it's like you are basically pulling in the clutch lever 1/4" when the fibers get hot and that will make your clutch slip. You should be able to get nickle or quarter between the lever and housing at what would be the pinch point in the lever.

I had 2 friends last weekend and 2 this weekend adjust theirs.

If you run your bike you should still have a slight gap or slack in the lever with it hot, adjust your cable at the lever adjuster accordingly.

My guess is cable adjustment. Hope this helps Radar

I agree with Radar...

With a lockup, NO reason at all it should slip with a 7 disc setup unless the adjustment is off on the clutch.

I'm going to assume you have a pancake bearing otherwise known as the "pusher" mod.

If that is out of adjustment...you'll have issues.

Unless that bike has NOS and a Turbo/Supercharger on it, you should be fine with a 7 plate setup and lockup, properly adjusted.

one of my buds was having the same problem with a 5mil dm, tried everything nothing worked. Then he heard someone talking about lockout weights, so he added washers on each side of each arm on the lockout assembly and it hooked like a raped ape. Give it a try

I have seen guys adjust their clutch arm with the cable not the pusher. That is wrong and will ruin a clutch in 5 mins.let us know what u find out.
