You can shorten it and add a roundhouse carrier easily at the same time. JJ&A racing has the tubes for cheap.

 

I shortened this one by about 3/4".

You would have to get a billet carrier to run that and billet carriers have the axel off set from the center line, so when you spin them it will move the axel forward or back.

 

That one doesn't have tabs welded on it yet to clamp down on the carrier once adjusted.

Yeah, there is no way to clamp it down. You have to weld those on to?
