SAVAGE420
I just use 2 small screws across from one an other, screw them in a then pull on them with some vise grips and she will come out. Then lightly grease the seal and push the seal in easy with a socket of the same size as the seal. Done!

superfastyfz450driver
you will need one hell of a long socket since the banshee shift shaft sticks out at least 2 and a half inches long you might be better off trying to use a couple old wrist pins if you have some laying around

You can slide the whole shaft out the side of the case and there is nothing in the way.

I think he means leaving the clutch cover on, and not taking out the shaft at all.
