Bought a slingshot last week and went to put it on last night. All went well, followed the instructions provided. Only set back is the steel plate on the lockup rubs the inside of the clutch cover. The nubs have been ground smooth. Instructions say there needs to be at least 0.060" between the steel plate and the lockup after the bolts have been torqued. After I torque mine there is about 0.100". Any ideas......?

Thanks in advance.

I had the exact thing with a billet basket that made my spacing off. You can either take some off the spacers if that's the problem. You can also call Kevin Gigot at Gigot Performance Engineering and tell him your spacing problem exactly he probably has some spacers that are the width you need or can make you some. He is one of the best, nicest guys in our industry and this is just something we run into when building custom stuff for bikes.

I talked to kevin when i had one of his. The gap can almost be an eighth of an inch and be ok.I would say to grind down the waffle part. It did not hit on my bike with the nubs ground off.

They are a good lockup I run one on my 4mil cub. I run two bearings in every other groove and then 1 in the other half of em. Still overkill but it holds good.

We're going to Little Sahara this week/weekend. If it survives this trip it must be bullet proof b/c the bike gets nothing but abuse while it's there lol. I'll report back how it acts and/or if I blow up the motor. I've got good expectations though. Heard a lot of good things about them.
