Mike27 Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 alright I just put my banshee all back together after getting everything PC'd. So the motor had been sitting for about 5 months. finally got everything together and everytime I go from N to 1st it lunges and dies.....It didnt do this before so i want to find were these adjustment marks are before I tear into the clutch... heres some pics of my setup....let me know if it looks right.. thanks mike Quote
xX JAMMER Xx Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 your gonna have the same problem i did.. mine was chain whacked also and i had no adjustment marks. i had to take my clutch cover off and adjust it all by feel.. my lunged forward a few times until i got all of the new oil warmed up and ran through the tranny also. so you may just wanna wait and see. unless you already have done that But yeah you look pretty dang close to where mine is sitting at. also if you do end up going into the clutch. dont adjust it by looking at it. i did it that way the first time and my clutch would never engage fully.. its weird. sorry im not much help Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 Yeah sounds like your clutch plates are just sticking together as said. There proly just really dry and sticky. Stick the shee on a stand or the back wheels off the ground and pop it into gear and run it like this till shes warm. Then try again after the clutch is all wet again. I bet thats your problem, all wet clutches do that when they sit for a long period. Easy to check out and do anyways. Quote

Most people don't even go by the marks. I never do and i just set it with the adjuster/s until its right. Quote
AKheathen Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 mine has a whack, too, but i still have the arrow just on there. it's about at the edge of where yours broke off, i think. mabey wrong, but i can't go look at it for a few weeks. just adjust the free play in the arm to 1/4 to 3/8 if you do adjust it. you will have to overcome the spring on the arm to feel it, but i don't think you can really release the clutch with your finger but it does tak some pressure to move the spring. you can do the free wheel and put it in gear, or you can warm it up, get it rolling and put it in gear with the clutch pulled. play with the clutch and put around, and rev it a few times with it in gear, clutch pulled. it should start letting go Quote
