What i currently have is vfocre, 17cc domes, dune port and fmf pipes. My ? is can i run a 4 mill with stock carbs? I currently have 59hp. I would like to gain some more power but not a lot. How much power would i potentially gain? Thanks for any help. Edited March 10, 2010 by 1998twin Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 you cant just toss a 4mm crank in there and go riding. the port timing of the cylinders must be changed to match the extra stroke other wise it will not run right. also, you will need stroker domes to accept the extra height of the pistons because of the stroke. i recommend you having a reputable builder do the porting for you and getting you the correct domes. Burt Reynolds Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 I got a 4mil longrod by mistake once, ebay dealer sent me the wrong crank, prolly the only time i have been lucky on ebay. I ran it with 795 pistons and a spacer plate, with my trinity single 35mm,and fmf gnarly pipes with no porting and no problem, but i didnt gain much at all from the stroker without porting. I ran it for a whole season before we tore it back down for porting . So i can tell you firsthand without porting and the right parts a 4mil isnt worth it. Quote
