I just rebuilt my sons motor. New crank and top end we bought this quad with a blown motor so I never heard it run. It had k&n pods on it I replaced them with a air box with pro flow adapter and a k&n filter and stock lid with vents no snorkel.the motor is 30 over, stock head, boysen reeds ,stock cage with pro circuit pipes the main in the carbs now is a plastic 330 seems big to me. needle lowest groove, 2.5 pilot I am at near sea level any suggestions I have not even started the motor yet.

Welcome,

I think that the 330s will be way to rich?

I would start with around 290 depending on temp.

The 25s are stock pilots. You might be able to get away with those but maybe not. Im wondering why they didnt have 27.5s with pods on.

As for the needle. I would put it in the middle for a starting point.

For the Air screw. I would start at around 1 turn out from fully seated. Due to that fact you have the lid and some holes in there.

Read up on this site to help you under stand the jetting of the banshee a little more.

You will not like the banshee when it is not running right. But when it runs, Your face will hurt from :D so much.

Also make sure your getting the carbs synced as close as you can get them. Or one side will come on sooner then the other. Causing a really shitty bottom end.

Best of luck.

too rich is better than too lean.how does it run?what do the plugs look like?is it surging(which i doubt cuz 330 is a big main for what u have, but still might be there or close, esp.if cooler temps),if its rich it will burble up top,if lean it will rev but not feel like its going anywhere.i would run it with the 330s for a check.properly warm it up and check plug.it prob will be rich tho since u did state the lid is on.pull lid and check again, unless u want to leave the lid on,then ull have to down jet.if ur running stock carbs and not syncronizing them with a vaccuum guage-open the throttle and look into the windows in the sides of each carb until the eye in the slides are in the window at the same time.thats the easiest way to eyeball the sync and thats y the factory put them there

thanks for the help I haven't tried to start the motor yet.I did sync the carbs by eye to start out then I will use the flow meter after I get it running.the motor was blown when I got it the big end of the rod was blown apart the pods were filthy with mud and the through ts of the carbs had mud in them probably why it blew.
