hi i have a cheetah 485 motor shearer in frames and some pwk35 im at sea level where should i start jetting the pwk i got are used and had 55 pilots and 140 main i tryed it it seems to die on top ???????

Your for sure very lean on top. Do not run it again like this!!! I would start with like a 165, and proly end up at 162 or 160 mains. Seems a size big on the pilots also. But if it pulls clean down low, dont mess with it.

 

Always better to start off a lil rich then get her so she pulls clean all the way through.

 

Do some plug chops also. Do the list EXACTLY though http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/plugchop.html

Ive got the same set up,Trinity told me 55pilots and 145 mains cel needles 3rd clip

air screws should be 2 1/2 turns out right ?

 

Yes,and fine tune from there,half a turn in or out until she pulls clean all the way to the top

I just got my 485 all put together, I'm also using shearer pipes and 35 pwk's.

 

I got everything from HJR and this is how they set mine up:

 

CEL needle middle clip

165 mains(also sent 168,162, and 160 mains)

55 pilot

1 1/2 turns out on air screw

 

I hope this helps, it sounds very similiar to Savage420's advice
